The department of SANSKRIT, Tamulpur College came into existence in the year. At the initial stage, the department offered Alternative Sanskrit course under ‘Three Year Degree’ (TDC) of Gauhati University. Further, in order to meet the increasing need of the University, since its inception, the department has been striving to facilitate holistic development of its students. The department has a wide aim to inculcate human cultural and intellectual values to younger generations. The faculty has been working toward that end with full commitment. At present, the department has two full time dedicated Assistant Professors.
Facilities:
Any student or teacher from other departments having interest in Sanskrit Literature/language can also borrow book from the library. At present in sanskrit the College Library has about 200 course text books and references.
