Department of Economics came into existence in 1993 as Elective subject. With the growing demand for honours course in Economics, the department has started to offer major course in Economics from the session 2017-2018. The department has been rendering its sincere services for fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the students of economics. The department is functioning with two full-time and one part time Assistant Professors.

Department has a good collection of more than 350 textbooks and references as well that are accessible for both students and teachers.
